June 20, 2016Nothing warms you up in the morning like a steaming bowl of fruity porridge, and with the goodness of wholegrains and a few extra secret ingredients, this porridge is superfood for your brain that will keep you full for hours.
Nutrition: per serve
241 cal (1008kJ), 29.3 g carbs, 13.55g sugar, 8.43g fat, 1.76g saturated fat, 9.7g protein, 6.47g fibre
Ingredients:
1 apple, diced, skin on
2 cups water
1 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons LSA
1 cup light milk
Pinch of salt
Sprinkle of ground cinnamon (1 tsp)
4 tsp honey
Method:
1: Add to saucepan the apple and water, bring to boil, add oats, chia seeds, and LSA. Lower heat to a simmer, and cook for 5 mins.
2: Add milk, cook another 5 mins or until creamy and soft, add a pinch of salt and a sprinkling of cinnamon to taste.
3: Use 1/4 cup cold milk per person to cool porridge, and one level teaspoon of honey drizzled on the top per serve.
Serves four.
